Learn how to make classic Israeli hummus in one minute

Classic Hummus

Ingredients

3 cups chickpeas
1 tablespoon baking soda
1 cup tahini paste
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
Juice of one lemon
¼ teaspoon granulated garlic
pinch of cumin
Olive oil, parsley, paprika and cumin for garnish

Directions

Soak chickpeas overnight in enough water to cover.
Add 1 tablespoon baking soda and cook for 45 minutes.
Strain chickpeas and place in a food processor with 2/3 cup of cooking liquid, tahini paste, salt,pepper, lemon juice, granulated garlic and cumin.
Grind and puree until smooth.
Push through a fine mesh strainer.
Pour into a serving bowl and garnish with olive oil, chopped parsley, paprika and cumin.
Serve with onions, olives,pickles and pita bread.
