There are many things to celebrate and this is a big one:

Walter Cole/Darcelle is celebrating his 91st birthday on Tuesday, November 16th.

An unveiling of the permanent art installation that commemorates the placement of Darcelle XV Showplace on the National Register of Historic Places as the oldest drag cabaret in the US.

Darcelle XV Showplace has been recognized as the oldest drag cabaret in the US. Out of over 93,500 places/buildings on the National Register, there are only 22 that are LGBTQ and this is the 22^nd one. The only one in Oregon. For the past 54 years, the Darcelle XV Showplace has been a gathering place for the community in Old Town. Walter/Darcelle has been helm and continues to perform two nights a week – two shows per night.

• A small reception inside to follow

This is a once-in-a-lifetime event.

No reservation is needed – this is an outdoor event and if you wish to continue with the small celebration, it will be inside the club. All COVID-19 protocols will be adhered to.
