If you or a loved one have concerns or questions about this debilitating progressive disease shared by over a million Americans as of 2018, you won’t want to miss this informative outreach program sponsored by Cedar Sinai Park elder care campus at it’s assisted living community Rose Schnitzer Manor Our facilitor is a physician at OHSU’s Neurology department. He will discuss symptoms, causes and treatment. A Parkinson’s patient will offer his own insights. There’l be ample opportunity for questions. OHSU’s doctors Parkinson’s disease, certain nerve cells (neurons) in the brain gradually break down or die. Many of the symptoms are due to a loss of neurons that produce a chemical messenger in your brain called dopamine. When dopamine levels decrease, it causes abnormal brain activity, leading to symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. Want to know more?
