Pianist David Rothman in Recital
Piano virtuoso David Rothman tackles the masterworks of composers Ludwig van Beethoven and Frederic Chopin. The four-part concert series that began in September returns to the J’s December schedule for the final two performances.
David Rothman was born in Toronto, Canada, in 1962. At age 6, he began to study piano, and he was accepted into the Menuhin School in England at age 10. At 17, he was accepted into the Curtis Institute where he studied with Mieczyslaw Horszowski.

Cedar Sinai Park and the residents of Rose Schnitzer Manor invite you and your elderly loved ones to a vitally important and educational program on the nature of memory. Medical expert Dr. Scott Losk of the Memory Health Center will help us understand what’s normal when it comes to memory loss and what’s not. Along the way he may allay your fears. Dr. Losk is a clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist who has maintained a clinical and research practice with Summit Research Network in Portland, OR since 1990. He has conducted over 50 clinical trials in Alzheimer’s disease since 1990 and has done research on all of the current FDA-approved drugs for Alzheimer’s disease. He was involved in the very earliest research that led to the first-ever treatment for Alzheimer’s disease. Israel from the Eyes of the Community: A PDX Community Art Display at our Yom Ha’Atzmaut Celebration
Send us your best photo that you took in Israel. Approved submissions (no lewd photos, or photos that include illegal paraphernalia) will be on display in the MJCC Art Gallery from April 29 – May 31, 2019.
Community members will vote on their favorite photo from April 29 – May 8. Winners will be announced at 8:00 pm at the Yom Ha’Atzmaut Celebration on May 8.
Email a high resolution digital copy of the photo, and include a note about where and when it was taken. Files no larger than 10MB per submission. Deadline is April 12, 2019. One submission per person. Email submissions to lsteinberg@oregonjcc.org.

9:00 – 11:00 am: Pack boxes
10:30 – 11:30 am: Send off drivers to deliver boxes

- Do you want to build boxes/help with setup, pack boxes, or deliver boxes?
- How many people will be helping, including total number of adults and children.
- If you choose to deliver, how many boxes can you take in your vehicle? (boxes are approximately a 2 ft cube)

During the week leading up to our annual Yom Ha’Atzmaut Celebration (May 8), visitors were ask to vote for your favorite photo! That evening, we will announce the winners.
