College Info Night & Fair

Calling all teens and parents! Curious to know what your options are after high school graduation? Interested in learning more about Jewish life on college campuses? Join Julia Surtshin from College Ahead, as well as a wide array of other professionals who will share the ins and outs of life after high school. Come learn about the college admission process, financial aid, as well as non-traditional post-high school program opportunities.

Free and open to the community.

All teens and parents curious about options after high school graduation are invited to the program. Join Julia Surtshin from College Ahead, as well as a wide array of other professionals, who will share the ins and outs of life after high school. Come learn about the college admission process, financial aid, as well as non-traditional post-high school program opportunities. Learn more about Jewish life on college campuses too. Presenters/booths include: Julia Surtshin, College Ahead; Tim Tank, Morgan Stanley Financial Planning; Andy Gitelson, Oregon Hillel; Hannah Sherman, PDX Hillel; Dov and Chani Bialo, Chabad at Reed College; and Rabbi Ozer Moskowski, Akiva at University of Oregon.

Additionally, information about two gap year programs will be available. Adinah Miller will be on hand to discuss Tivnu, a Jewish building and social justice gap year program based in Portland. Materials from Masa Israel will be available for gap year programs in Israel.

March is Jewish Arts Month but the show starts in late February! Enjoy a rotating exhibit in the MJCC lobby. Members of ORA: Northwest Jewish Artists will answer questions, accept commissions, and sell their art. A portion of the proceeds benefits the MJCC.

Join the MJCC for a fundraising dinner at Aviv, Portland’s home to delicious vegan Israeli food. The first dinner seating begins at 5:30 pm and the second seating starts at 80 pm. We are pleased to offer each multi-course dinner with an optional wine-pairing featuring Israeli, kosher, and Oregon-local wines. Aviv is donating a portion of the proceeds of this multi-course dinner to the MJCC.

CNS Family Shabbat Experience at Camp Solomon Schechter

Friday-Sunday, April 24-26, 2020

Families with children ages 0-3rd grade join together for a fantastic weekend at Camp Solomon Schechter. Together we’ll celebrate Shabbat with family friendly services, activities and games. Adults will have time to relax as well. Located on the beautiful grounds of Camp Solomon Schechter in Olympia, WA we’ll enjoy the natural surroundings throughout Shabbat.

Pricing includes: shared cabin, Friday dinner, three meals and two snacks on Saturday and a Sunday brunch.

CNS Members & Foundation School Families: Adults: $150 each; Children 5-11: $100/child; Children 2-4: $45/child. Kids under 2: FREE; Max per family: $500.

Non-Members: Adults: $180 each; Children 5-11: $120/child; Children 2-4: $60/child.

Kids under 2: FREE; Max per family: $600.
