New in town? Listen and watch as the Oregon Historical Society brings  Portland’s story from its early days as “the Clearing” which was not even home to the many Indian tribes in the area through the shaping events of the 20th Century.  OHS  brings its interactive presentation during  which we’ll learn how Portland developed into a major city and chief port on the Willamette. Our speaker will explore the roles of the The Oregonian, the Plank road, the impact of the California Gold Rush and the roots of the entrepreneurial spirit that characterizes our city to this day.
