Torah Troop for 3rd-5th Graders

1st and 3rd Shabbat every month at 10:00am

Torah Troop allows families at Congregation Neveh Shalom to move into the main sanctuary while still enjoying youth-oriented activity. At 10:00am, families meet in the main service. After the beginning Torah service, youth join their friends for a lesson on the Torah portion (parsha) of the week with adult leaders, and come back to help lead the Adon Olam at the end of the service.

As always, we end with our community for lunch!

Havurah Synagogue in Ashland Celebrates 36th Anniversary @ Havurah Synagogue
Jul 16 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

On Friday, July 16th at 7:00 PM the Havurah Synagogue, a Jewish Renewal community, will celebrate its 36th year anniversary, as well as Rabbi David Zaslow’s 25th year of being the spiritual leader of the community.

Zaslow was ordained in 1995 by Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi zt”l under the supervision and mentorship of Rabbi Aryeh Hirschfield, z”l. In the summer of 1996 he became spiritual leader of the Havurah Synagogue. The celebration will open with tributes by Havurah Council President Daniel Greenblatt, Rabbi Sue Morningstar, Rabbi Julie Benioff of Temple Emek Shalom, Mayor Julie Aikens, Rabbi Jackie Brodsky and storyteller Debra Zaslow. Long-time Havurah member, Jonnie Zheutlin, will also be honored as she moves to Portland to be near family.

Shabbat will be welcomed with candle lighting and song, followed by potluck dessert, wine and refreshments. Grizzly Peak wines will be enjoyed by all thanks to the generosity of Al and Virginia Silbowitz of Grizzly Peak Winery. The event will be held in the Havurah garden (in case of extreme weather, it will be moved inside.) RSVP is requested by writing to office@ashlandhavurah.org. The event will also be live- streaming to the Havurah’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/HavurahSynagogue. Please call 541-488-7716 for more information.
