Due to space considerations, evening and morning services for Rosh Hashanah are members-only events.
We would love to welcome you to:
Family Services at 1:00 pm. (For a sweet treat, come at 12:30 and share in our apples and honey, too.) We welcome kids and adults of all ages for this shorter version of our morning services. RSVP is required.
Tashlikh at 3:00 pm at Sellwood Riverfront Park (SE Oak Park Way): Tashlikh is an ancient ritual – time to toss out last year’s regrets and worries. We will symbolically cast out our sins into the flowing water of the Willamette River. (Bring bread or bread crumbs to participate.) RSVP is required.
Tashlich and Family Picnic
Reservations are required for all and may be made by website or phone. Services are free to members. Non-members may attend any or all of the High Holy Day services for a donation of $100 per adult or $200 per family. Donations will apply to a new membership.
During this season of repentance, we are called upon to do T’shuvah, to return to God in sincerity and in truth. Please join the Havurah community as we gather at Sellwood Riverfront Park to perform the Tashlich ceremony. We seek to symbolically “cast away” our accumulated sins and transgressions, so that we may purify our hearts and our souls as the New Year begins.
We will meet at Picnic Area B. Please bring something to share at the vegetarian potluck immediately following Tashlich. What to bring by Last Name: A-G Salad or Dessert/H-Z Vegetarian Main Dish. And bring drinks for yourself and your family. Havurah will provide some drinks and ice. And don’t forget the breadcrumbs!
Please RSVP here by Sept. 19 with the names of family members and the names and ages of your children planning to attend.
Led by Rebecca Darling-Budner. Music by Steve Mesulam, Scott Snyder, and Aaron Pearlman.
Havurah Shalom invites you to our Rosh Hashanah Day Two Services at the Tiffany Center. The day begins with Shacharit at 9:00 am, the Torah Service at 10:00 am, Shofar Service at 11:30 am, and Musaf/Additional Service at 12:00 noon.
All are welcome. No advance registration, tickets or payments are required.
