Portland Dining Month @ Various restaurant locations

Every March, the city’s top restaurants offer three-course meals for a great price, making it the best time to experience one of the nation’s most talked-about culinary destinations – affordably. Travel Portland donates money to the Oregon Food Bank for each reservation made through the OpenTable links listed here. April Monthly Mitzvah @ Mittleman Jewish Community Center

Each month the MJCC and PJA communities will collect items for the monthly mitzvah. Drop off items in the green bin in the MJCC lobby. Check the display for how you can participate and donate to these worthy causes.

This project reflects the Jewish commitment to Tikkun Olam (repairing the world), providing opportunities to give back to our community.

TechfestNW 2020 @ Portland State University’s Viking Pavilion

TechfestNW 2020 will be held at Portland State University’s Viking Pavilion at 930 SW Hall St. in Portland on April 2-3 from 9 am to 5 pm each day.

This year’s conference will highlight industry leaders and community involvement in our region.

Hear from thought leaders across industries. Experience workshops and live tech demos. Join the startup pitch festival. And of course, enjoy plenty of opportunity for networking, where entrepreneurs, investors and industry executives meet, mingle and make meaningful connections.

Curated speakers bring their stories to the main stage; workshops bolster their messaging with intimate gatherings; parties draw you together to network and mingle; the demo floor boasts the coolest new gadgets and companies hiring or showcasing their services.

PitchfestNW runs in conjunction with TechfestNW with registration on April 2-3 starting at 8:30 am. Startups can apply for the opportunity to present their company to a prestigious panel of investors. Accepted startups from around the world gather together for two days of networking, workshops, speakers, and pitches, before the winner is chosen on Friday afternoon.

Wise Aging @ Mittleman Jewish Community Center

Wise Aging: Living with Joy, Resilience and Spirit.
This five week program will explore how to live our lives with intention. Each interactive session will include opportunities for personal sharing, contemplative listening, basic mindfulness practice, and text study.
Based on the nationally recognized program developed by the Institute for Jewish Spirituality (IJS), these workshops are designed to help participants explore the years beyond mid-life as a unique opportunity for growth and discovery. Small group discussion will focus on how aging affects us and how we can make this time of our lives more meaningful and more positive.
Participants will need to read the book Wise Aging: Living with Joy, Resilience and Spirit by Rabbi Rachel Cowan & Dr. Linda Thal (not included in the registration fee). This program is made possible through the generosity of Jewish Family and Children’s Services and the Holzman Foundation.
