An uplifting hour of study on Shabbat with Neveh Shalom’s Education Director Mel Berwin! Delve into biblical and midrashic text, (Hebrew and English text available) with a group of other women to find meaning from our traditions that relate to our lives. Tony-winning director Bartlett Sher brings his fresh take on a beloved masterpiece to life as “Fiddler of the Roof” begins a North American tour direct from Broadway. The show will run from Jan. 7 through Jan. 12, 2020, at the Keller Auditorium at 222 SW Clay St. in Portland.
The original production won ten Tony Awards, including a special Tony for becoming the longest-running Broadway musical of all time. Be there when the sun rises on this new production, with stunning movement and dance from acclaimed Israeli choreographer Hofesh Shechter, based on the original staging by Jerome Robbins. A wonderful cast and a lavish orchestra tell this heartwarming story of fathers and daughters, husbands and wives, and the timeless traditions that define faith and family.
Featuring the Broadway classics “Tradition,” “If I Were a Rich Man,” “Sunrise, Sunset,” “Matchmaker, Matchmaker” and “To Life,” “Fiddler on the Roof” will introduce a new generation to this uplifting celebration that raises its cup to joy! To love! To life!

The Portland Bureau of Emergency Management is partnering with Neveh Shalom to lead us through this interactive workshop. You will receive a beautifully printed and bound Emergency Preparedness Guide/Workbook with tons of useful info in an easy-to-understand format and worksheets to personalize your own plan. By the end of the workshop, you’ll be able to: identify potential hazards at home and away, create a disaster preparedness plan, gather important documents & phone numbers, and make a disaster kit and emergency toilet. 45 person limit.
