The Portland Ballet, a world-class dance academy in Portland, Oregon, is committed to fostering the future of ballet by building the next generation of dancers and audiences. Founded in 2001, TPB is shaped by the vision, artistic experience, and family-centered sensibility of the founding directors. Artistic Director Nancy Davis and Executive Director Jim Lane trained at the School of American Ballet and enjoyed distinguished professional careers in companies throughout the U.S. After retiring as principal dancers of the Los Angeles Ballet – where their partnership onstage led to a marriage and family off the stage – they moved to Portland, Oregon, and founded The Portland Ballet.

Graduates have carried TPB’s reputation for excellence into professional companies and conservatory programs throughout the U.S. and abroad. TPB alumni have gone on to dance with Pacific Northwest Ballet, Houston Ballet, Boston Ballet, Miami City Ballet, Saint Louis Ballet, Sacramento Ballet, Ballet West, Nevada Ballet Theatre, Royal Swedish Ballet, Eugene Ballet, Batsheva Dance Company, Mariinsky Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, and other professional companies.

Israeli Innovation: What is the Secret? @ Congregation Neveh Shalom
Aug 5 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Join StandWithUs Northwest’s Shaliach Eitan Teiger for a talk about the secrets of Israel’s success when it comes to high tech and innovation. We will understand the motives for entrepreneurial culture, how the diversity of society has contributed to it and how Israel is making efforts to include different groups in this space by presenting several representative examples.
