Nov. 30-Dec. 30
A Christmas Memory by Truman Capote
Winter Song created by Merideth Kaye Clark and Brandon Woolley
Music and stories come together in this cozy celebration of winter. In A Christmas Memory, Truman Capote’s rural Alabama boyhood comes to life, offering a touching portrait of an enduring friendship and tender rituals. This gem of a story is paired with Winter Song, a collection of beloved tunes and tales that celebrate winter and all it represents: love, family, solitude, renewal and warmth.
Evenings: Tuesdays-Sundays at 7:30 pm

Torah Troop for 3rd-5th Graders
1st and 3rd Shabbat every month at 10:00am
Torah Troop allows families at Congregation Neveh Shalom to move into the main sanctuary while still enjoying youth-oriented activity. At 10:00am, families meet in the main service. After the beginning Torah service, youth join their friends for a lesson on the Torah portion (parsha) of the week with adult leaders, and come back to help lead the Adon Olam at the end of the service.
As always, we end with our community for lunch!
Continue the fun and warmth of Congregation Neveh Shalom’s Tot Shabbat with Kiddush Club. We sing, dance, hear a Torah story and more! 1st Shabbat of the month with Rabbi Eve Posen, 3rd Shabbat of the month with Gershon Liberman. Both followed by Kiddush lunch.

The OJMCHE series of informal lunchtime conversations. Bring a lunch or buy a brown bag lunch in Lefty’s Cafe and join us in the museum’s auditorium for a lively give and take as we share and explore ideas, experience, and expertise.
Join Kenneth Helphand, Philip H. Knight Professor of Landscape Architecture Emeritus University of Oregon, for a talk on Ghetto Gardens in conjunction with our current exhibition. The Last Journey of the Jews of Lodz offers an extraordinary rare glimpse of life inside the Lodz Ghetto through the lens of Polish Jewish photojournalist Henryk Ross.
It seems improbable, but gardens were made in the ghettos of Lodz, Warsaw, Kovno and more. Based on research in Poland, Israel and the US this illustrated talk speaks about the creation and meaning of these gardens based on the first person accounts of their creators and witnesses. The talk is based on material in Helphand’s award winning book Defiant Gardens: Making Gardens in Wartime. The OJMCHE Brown Bag lunch is a series of informal lunchtime conversations. Bring a lunch or buy a brown bag lunch in Lefty’s Cafe and join us in the museum’s auditorium for a lively give and take as we share and explore ideas, experience, and expertise.
