Celebrate the festival of lights at Congregation Neveh Shalom in this fun retelling of the Hanukkah story through narration and a selection of pop, rock, and Jewish songs. Bring toilet paper donations to support the Men’s Club Toilet Paper Drive for Neighborhood House. Also remember to bring your own chanukiah to light with the community.

HANUKKAH WITH THE BLAZERS @ Moda Center

Jewish Heritage Night returns to the Moda Center as the Trailblazers take on the Phoenix Suns on Dec. 6, the fifth night of Hanukkah. Chabad of Oregon and the Portland Trailblazers have partnered to present the event eight times since 2007. Game starts at 7 pm. The night features a pre-game menorah lighting and Hanukkah party in the concourse, limited edition Hebrew Trailblazers T-shirt giveaway and post-game free-throw shots. Introduction to Judaism Course @ various local synagogues

This 18-week course is taught by members of The Oregon Board of Rabbis, representing a variety of Jewish affiliations. A carefully constructed curriculum includes Jewish history, life cycle events, holidays, ritual and daily practice, theology, study of Torah and contemporary Jewish America. While not a conversion class, most OBR members consider it a prerequisite for students beginning study for conversion. Classes 7-9 pm, Thursdays, at rotating Portland area synagogues.
