This family friendly, free to the public, all-day multicultural event honors the people that make KBOO Community Radio happen.
On August 11th, to commemorate its 50th birthday, KBOO will transform a block near its studios into a festival area. Activities will include music performances, activities, station tours, food, beverages and ways to connect with grassroots organizations.
KBOO has been at the heart of the action of much of Oregon’s cultural and political life for almost five decades. All people in our region benefit from a deeper understanding of our collective heritage.
KBOO shares an unflinching, lived truth – that community radio remains a source of revolutionary thought, that KBOO will express its beliefs (no matter how different they might be) with honesty and earnestness. KBOO will persist in providing an alternative to mainstream media – one that lifts up the voices of the unheard.
KBOO works toward empowering our community to express themselves, toward facilitating a space for resistance, and toward creating a tool for critical listening for another 50 years.
Join KBOO and celebrate!
