Yoga Minyan @ Temple Beth Sholom

Yoga is an amazing way to get in touch with and strengthen your body, and calm your mind. We are offering Yoga classes at TBS on Saturday mornings. With the help of Zohra Campbell, Owner of Indigo Wellness Center here in Salem, we will offer two levels of Yoga, concurrent with Saturday morning services … its a YOGA MINYAN! One level will be gentle yoga and the other more strenuous.  This six-week package is $60 and can be paid at the office.  Drop-ins are welcome and costs $12 per class.

 

Temple Beth Sholom Hanukkah Party: Lights, Laughter, & Latkes @ Temple Beth Sholom

Come share laughter, lights, and a variety of latkes. Bring a vegetarian potluck dish to share. Come early at 2:00 for latke making. We will have an open mic, where you are invited to share a good Jewish story, joke, or anything else wonderful about life. Be sure to bring your menorah and let’s shine the lights of Hanukkah as brightly as we can.

Celebrate Chanukah! A Festival for Kids and Families @ Congregation Neveh Shalom

Join Neveh Shalom’s ALIYAH Jewish Learning Program for an exciting Chanukah celebration!
K-6th Grade: 9:30am-12pm: Art projects, baking, glow in the dark room and a special presentation by author Eric Kimmel.
Preschool (0-5yrs): 10-11am: Play dreidel, music and dance, art projects and Chanukah treats.

Adventures with the Mishna Berurah: A Course in Jewish Literacy @ Congregation Neveh Shalom

Why do Jews do what we do? Where do our practices come from if they are not explicitly from the Torah? What are Shabbat or daily practices that might enrich our lives? The Mishnah Berurah, is the last generally accepted code of Jewish law and custom. We will explore the theory and practice of halakhah (Jewish law) for beginners to advanced students.
