Join Temple Beth Tikvah for Rosh Hashanah Services with Rabbi Johanna Hershenson and Cantor Adelle Nicholson. The High Holy Days are not just a celebration of the Jewish New Year but also serve as a time of contemplation, reflection and aspiration for the upcoming year. Temple Beth Tikvah’s High Holy Days services are open to everyone.
Everyone is welcome to attend our services, but there is an expense to the congregation. If you are a guest to our congregation for the High Holy Days, we ask for a $75 donation for a single person for the entire Holy Day season, or $150 per family.
For security reasons we do need to know ahead of time who will be joining us, so please let us know to expect you by September 7th.
Please do not let cost prohibit your attendance. If you are unable to contribute what we ask, please contact our Ezra committee at Ezra@jewishvancouverusa.org to discuss what amount might be more comfortable for you.
Child care is available during all services. To utilize child care, please call our office at least 2 days prior to the date to make a reservation for your child(ren). Cost is $10.00 per child per service to cover costs of the caregiver, snacks and supplies. Payment is due in advance. (Reservation assures sufficient staff at the times required.)
Food donation – The High Holy Days is a time for CKA’s semi-annual food drive. Non-perishable food for donation to a local bank and/or a monetary donation to Mazon: the Jewish Response to Hunger (a hunger relief organization) may be left in the lobby throughout the High Holy Days.
Rosh Hashanah Kiddush and Yom Kippur Break-the-Fast Following Rosh Hashanah morning services, please join the congregation for Kiddush lunch.
When Yom Kippur concludes, please join us in the social hall for our community break-the-fast supper buffet. In order to ensure we have sufficient food, we ask that you register or contact admin@jewishvancouverusa.org before 9/26.
In addition, please make a donation to cover the cost of the meal – $13/adults (13 and older) and $10/child (5-12 years old). Your check made payable to Congregation Kol Ami should be sent to our mailing address Congregation Kol Ami 7800 NE 119th Street, Vancouver, WA 98662.
(Cost should not be a reason to miss this after-service meal; all are welcome.)
