View and purchase Israeli art right here in Portland! Jerusalem’s Safrai Gallery is bringing over 1500 pieces of fine art by more than 100 contemporary Israeli artists to CNS.

A percentage of the proceeds will support Israel360, whose mission is to facilitate the ongoing and open dialog about Israel.

About Drs. Ronen & Debby Mir
Dr. Ronen Mir is the Founding Director of the Schwartz/Reisman Science Education Centers, Ruth and Uriel Arnon Campus for Science Education, at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel. Advanced Physics and Chemistry High School students in the community are served in the Center’s hands-on, state of the art learning laboratories.
Dr. Mir is a leader in the development of science education, with experience developing Science Centers in the USA, Israel, Switzerland, Brazil and Ethiopia. With diverse experience from serving at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in Illinois to being a Senior Lecturer at the Technion in Haifa, Dr. Mir holds a PhD and MSc degrees in Physics (Weizman Institute of Science) and a BSc degree in mathematics and Physics (Hebrew University). Scientific interests focus on High Energy Particle Physics. Dr. Mir’s first cousin, Yael Suher, is the mother of Yonaton Suher, z”l.
Dr. Debby Mir is an environmental and public health professional who focuses on raising awareness and changing behavior in micro-enterprise and educational sectors and residences, in order to minimize exposures to hazardous chemicals and wastes. Her current research and project management focuses on household hazardous chemical and waste management, structural and school integrated pest management, and emergency preparedness and response.
Dr. Mir holds a PhD from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Environmental Policy, Planning & Management, MSc in Environmental Sciences (Technion), BSc in Biology (McGill University, Montreal). She was a professor at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago and publishes and presents internationally.

Celebrate Chanukah with Rabbi Hannah Laner and the P’nai Or community!
– Everyone’s invited, old and young!
– Children and families get a head start on celebrating at 4 pm downstairs with a Bouncy House! and crafts. Join in candle lighting with the whole community at 5.
– Please plan to arrive by 4:45 to set down your potluck dish and set up your menorah with candles.
– Communal candle lighting! You are invited to bring your own menorah and candles from home. We will also have a few extra menorahs and candles to light if you aren’t able to bring your own.
– Chanukah songs with the P’nai Or House Band! We’ll start with some popular songs to dance to.Latke potluck dinner! We’ll need homemade latkes, applesauce, sour cream, side salads, desserts, beverages. (No meat please). We’ll warm up the latkes in our kitchen downstairs.

Bring your donations of gloves, socks, scarves, hand warmers, ponchos, hygiene items and gift cards. Let’s donate, dance, sing, eat, drink and light up the night with our music!

We’ll have drinks, latkes (made by our Sisterhood), soup, salad and so much more! While there is no door charge, we are asking for a donation to support this very special event!
