May 15, 7:00 pm – 15 de Mayo 7:00
Did you know that the second most widely spoken language in the US Jewish community is Spanish?
Come join us for a unique Friday night service on May 15 that celebrates a bilingual approach. We will have our usual celebration and songs and welcome Shabbat together, and this time we’ll do it in Spanish and Hebrew.
• Come because you love coming to Shabbat evening services!
• Join us to celebrate the rich linguistic heritages and beauty of Spanish and Hebrew!
• Come because you haven’t used your high school or college Spanish, and now is the time!
• Or come because this is a new, fun way to reflect on the joys and meanings of Shabbat!
¡Vengan Todos!
If you are a Spanish speaker, and you would like to help organize this event, please email Alanna Hein at heinconsul@aol.com.
Bring your gently used clothing or accessories in good condition, ranging from ages 2 and above. Go home with “new to you” items!
$10 per person, and food available for purchase.

Please join us on Tuesday, May 19 for our third annual fundraising luncheon, Celebrating Our Caring Community. The event will take place at the Multnomah Athletic Club from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Lunch will be “free” this year. Well, not exactly. Our generous sponsors will cover the costs so that 100% of every donation you make at the luncheon (or before if you can’t be there) will go directly to our important JFCS programs. The luncheon is our only fundraising event. We ask that everyone attending make a gift.
Our speaker, writer/filmmaker/editor, Stephen Elliott is sure to inspire. He credits a Jewish social service agency in Chicago where he grew up with saving his life. We will tell you the heartwarming JFCS story in a video showcasing the significant work we do. We know this is a workday lunch and we value your time so our program will be short.
