Join former CBI Associate Rabbi Alan Berg, a noted expert on Bob Dylan’s life and his music, for an exploration of five Dylan gems, each demonstrating Dylan’s unique marriage of words with music. This selection represents the arc of his life from the Midwest – North Country’s unique Zionist oriented Camp Herzl to the transcendental hills of upstate New York, from folk-to beat infused rock and roll, to country, to an entirely original hybrid known as The Basement Tapes.

PARKINSON’S — JOIN US AND LEARN MORE ABOUT THIS LIFE-ALTERING DISEASE @ Rose Schnitzer Manor on the Cedar Sinai Park campus

If you or a loved one have concerns or questions about this debilitating progressive disease shared by over a million Americans as of 2018, you won’t want to miss this informative outreach program sponsored by  Cedar Sinai Park elder care campus at it’s assisted living community Rose Schnitzer Manor Our facilitor is a physician at OHSU’s Neurology department.  He will discuss symptoms, causes and treatment. A Parkinson’s patient will offer his own insights. There’l be ample opportunity for questions. OHSU’s doctors  Parkinson’s disease, certain nerve cells (neurons) in the brain gradually break down or die. Many of the symptoms are due to a loss of neurons that produce a chemical messenger in your brain called dopamine. When dopamine levels decrease, it causes abnormal brain activity, leading to symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. Want to know more? This presentation is typical of the nearly 80 goings on offered to our residents. We look forward to sharing many of these with you.

Torah Troop for 3rd-5th Graders

1st and 3rd Shabbat every month at 10:00am

Meet in the MAIN service (Stampfer Chapel or Main Sanctuary) for the beginning of the Torah service, and then come out with your friends for a fun and active lesson on the Torah portion (parsha) of the week. Return to the service to help lead Adon Olam, and join the community for lunch!
