Jun 23 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Join us for this special presentation with Rabbi Mark Sameth, author of the book The Name: A History of the Dual-Gendered Hebrew Name for God.
Counter to everything we grew up believing, the God of Israel was understood by its earliest worshippers to be a dual-gendered, male-female deity. So argues Mark Sameth in his new and meticulously researched book. Join us for a fascinating online talk and Q&A session with the author to learn and discuss. Wednesday, June 23, 7pm PST. Free and open to all.
About Rabbi Mark Sameth: Named one of “America’s Most Inspiring Rabbis” by The Forward’s, featured in Berne and Blechman’s God: 48 Famous and Fascinating Minds Talk about God, Rabbi Mark Sameth’s essays include “Our Father, Who Art Our Mother” (Religion Dispatches) and “Is God Transgender?” (Op-Ed, The New York Times).
