Rabbi Hahn will be at Congregation Neveh Shalom’s Stampfer Chapel to lead our community’s kids in a ‘Kinder-Kirtan.’ He will introduce some call-and-response chants in Hebrew and tell a story. This is an engaging, new and exciting program for kids – and a new way to approach prayer in Hebrew. Come join us for this program – no RSVP necessary.

MAGIC WORD IN THE TORAH: KADOSH. Join us on Sunday, March 22, from 2:00-3:30 for text study and discussion of the word “kadosh”, sometimes translated as “holy”. What does the word really mean—in the Torah, in later Jewish writings, and for us today? Melissa Carpenter teaches this monthly class on “magic” words in the Torah at P’nai Or, 9750 SW Terwilliger Blvd., Portland. No Hebrew knowledge is necessary, drop-ins are welcome. Tu’B’Shevat Seder in Ashland

Exploring Jewish Meditation Weekend: Tefilah and Meditation Workshop with Rabbi Yoel Glick

An evocative exploration of the silence between the notes and the words of the tefillah service.

Rabbi Yoel Glick, author of ‘Living the Life of Jewish Meditation: A Comprehensive Guide to Practice and Experience,’ will join Shir Tikvah to share his experience of meditation as a way of life.

Other Jewish communities who have had the opportunity to study with Rabbi Yoel have stated: “he inspires, he teaches the tradition and opens up new ways of knowing the world… you leave larger in spirit…”
