Call for Photos – Submit Your Best Israel Pics!
Send in your best photo you took while visiting Israel by April 17 to be displayed at our community photo exhibition. Email a high resolution copy to lsteinberg@oregonjcc.org with a note about when and where it was taken.
All submissions will be on display at the MJCC from April 24 – May 31

March Monthly Mitzvah @ Mittleman Jewish Community Center

Each month the MJCC and PJA communities will collect items for the monthly mitzvah. Drop off items in the blue bin in the MJCC lobby. Check the display for how you can participate and donate to these worthy causes.

This project reflects the Jewish commitment to Tikkun Olam (repairing the world), providing opportunities to give back to our community.

Virtual Good Morning Moment – Modeh Ani

Good Morning Moment, Every morning Monday through Friday on the Foundation School Facebook Page Join Rabbi Eve Posen and Morah Leah Conley for a good morning moment. Monday will be Havdallah at 10am, Tuesday thru Thursday will be Modeh Ani and more at 8:30am, and Friday will be Shabbat at 10am. Wise Aging @ Mittleman Jewish Community Center

Wise Aging: Living with Joy, Resilience and Spirit.
This five week program will explore how to live our lives with intention. Each interactive session will include opportunities for personal sharing, contemplative listening, basic mindfulness practice, and text study.
Based on the nationally recognized program developed by the Institute for Jewish Spirituality (IJS), these workshops are designed to help participants explore the years beyond mid-life as a unique opportunity for growth and discovery. Small group discussion will focus on how aging affects us and how we can make this time of our lives more meaningful and more positive.
Participants will need to read the book Wise Aging: Living with Joy, Resilience and Spirit by Rabbi Rachel Cowan & Dr. Linda Thal (not included in the registration fee). This program is made possible through the generosity of Jewish Family and Children’s Services and the Holzman Foundation.
Thursdays, March 5 – April 2, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.

Introduction to Judaism class @ Portland area synagogues

Winter/Spring 2020 Session begins January 30. This 18-week course is taught by members of The Oregon Board of Rabbis, representing a variety of Jewish affiliation. A carefully constructed curriculum includes Jewish history, life cycle events, holidays, ritual and daily practice, theology, study of Torah and contemporary Jewish America. While not a conversion class, most OBR members consider it a prerequisite for students beginning study for conversion. Classes 7-9 pm, Thursdays, at rotating Portland area synagogues.
